TV3 is a Malaysian private television owned and operated by the Media Prima Berhad, group of companies in Malaysia. TV3 was launched on 1 June 1984 by then-Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad. Its broadcasting hours were originally from 4PM to 11PM. In the 1980s, TV3 started broadcasting in UHF frequency. The UHF channel for TV3 is 29 in Klang Valley. In 1990, TV3 started broadcasting clock idents prior to the news. TV3 became the seventh channel in Southeast Asia to broadcast clock idents. As of 2006, TV3 has 21 senders around the country. TV3's broadcasting hours was from 6:30 to 24:00 in 2010, and became 24 hours in 2011.
